Sales Process

A complete walkthrough of processing a sale in Clarity, including customer lookup, pricing adjustments, payment, and adding a job ticket.

What This Demo Covers

This 2-minute walkthrough shows a complete sale from start to finish, including a common real-world scenario where the customer also needs a repair on the item they just purchased.

New Sale and Customer Lookup

Click New Sale and search for the customer by name. Returning customers show up instantly. For a new customer, click Create Customer and Start Sale to add them on the spot.

Adding Items by SKU

Enter the SKU and hit Find. The item’s photo, price, and details populate right away.

Four Discount Options

Click the price once to open the pricing modal. Clarity gives you four ways to adjust pricing, depending on how the negotiation is going:

  • Percent off: Take a percentage off the listed price (e.g., 10% off).
  • Amount off: Subtract a flat dollar amount (e.g., $200 off).
  • Price before tax: Set the exact pre-tax price you want to charge.
  • Price with tax (out-the-door): Enter the total the customer will pay. Clarity calculates the tax automatically so the final number is exactly what you quoted.

This flexibility matters in jewelry retail where price negotiation is common and customers often ask “What can you do for me at $X out the door?”

Salesperson and Commissions

Select the salesperson from the dropdown. Commissions are tracked automatically per salesperson, so your reporting stays accurate without any extra steps.

Payment

Click Payment, select the method (cash, card, or other options like Zelle and Cash App), enter the amount, and click Apply. If a card payment is declined, the transaction won’t process.

Adding a Job Task from the Sale

Here’s where it gets practical. If the customer buys a ring that needs resizing, you don’t have to leave the sale screen. Click Add Job Tasks, enter the repair instructions and due date, and it’s attached to the transaction. One seamless flow for the customer, no extra paperwork for your team.

Press Print to save and print the receipt in one step.
